About Misti Music & Education
Misti Music & Education is dedicated to building a bridge between the rich traditions of jazz and Peruvian music. Our mission is to share and promote these musical forms through diverse educational and performance opportunities. This includes classes, workshops, podcasts, recordings, concerts, online events, and collaborative projects.
Our goal is to foster greater appreciation of jazz in Peru and to bring the depth and beauty of Peruvian musical heritage to audiences in the United States. By connecting these two vibrant traditions, we aim to inspire listeners and contribute to the ongoing growth and evolution of both art forms.
We are Sofía Carrasco and Víctor Sotomayor, musicians and educators with a passion for connecting jazz with the music of Peru.
Our work focuses on creating new musical productions and providing educational opportunities that highlight the richness of both traditions.
